A Closer Look at the Newest Video Cards From AMD

Hardware

The new graphics cards from Nvidia are called the RTX 3060 and 3050 and the new AMD Radeon HD 6700 series. All three of these cards, all three of the most popular cards on the market today are based on the same architecture, called the G-sync technology. What makes them so similar though is the fact that they use the same memory engine that is used in other video cards. However, the difference comes in with the way how the memory is accessed on these two cards.

When comparing these cards, one thing that needs to be noted is that the clocks on these cards are all different. You can clearly see that the G-Sync cards are much faster than the older cards that were made by AMD. The reason for this is that these cards use a completely new type of memory engine that eliminates all of the problems that come with having to use the wrong type of memory. One example of this is when you have multiple programs open at the same time. When they try to share the same memory resources, some of them will get a hit due to a slight delay in getting the information from the memory resource cache to the output display.

This is where the G-Sync solution shines. With the G-Sync solution on the cards, there is only one instance of the information that is being shared at any given moment. It is then instant that the information is synced up and ready to be displayed on the screen. The frames per second (FPS) rate is tied directly to the speed with which the data is transferred. When the frames per second falls below the maximum refresh rate of the display then the system considers the game to be unplayable. The new cards are able to maintain a constant frame rate so there are no issues like this.

There are other cards on the market that allow for dual-link DVI. These cards are not compatible with the Alien-ware models. However, the Alien-ware models do support dual-link DVI. Therefore, if you do purchase one of these cards make sure that you buy the right one.

The use of video cards is not limited to games. For example, if you are using your PC for watching high definition videos then you should use a card that supports the HDCP protocol. These high resolution video cards will transfer the media files directly from the source device to your display without having to use a transcoding device. This saves you money because you do not have to pay for transcoding.

Frame rates are important in the modern gaming world. If you want to get the highest frame rates possible then you need to use the right cards. Luckily, the Nvidia RTX 3060 and 3050 and amd Radeon RX 6700 series graphics cards from AMD have the right specifications so that you can enjoy the most out of your game play.
