From this window you can configure settings for a Logitech gaming mouse, keyboard, headset or selected wheel through Logitech Gaming Software or LGS as it’s commonly known. Note that LGS has been replaced by G Hub as the bundled software for most devices released after 2019, but LGS is still supported for devices released before 2019.

Customization

Logitech Gaming Software is a valuable utility to its users: it allows gamers to program a demanding array of functions into their feline keyboards, R2-D2 mice, and Cyclops headsets. Sensitivity, button assignments, lighting effects and lighting effects can all be customised for each individual. You can even use it to create macro commands that string several movements together, sometimes fulfilling an entire action that would otherwise take many steps, such as typing a long URL or addressing a letter.

It supports hundreds of titles, including Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and League of Legends. It also shows onscreen whether you’re using your thumb, pointer finger, middle finger and pinky fingers on the individual buttons, via a coloured heat map. The software allows you to sync RGB lighting across LGS-compatible products while also setting macros and profiles. The macro feature lags far behind LGS, repeating the action at 200 per cent of your own speed.

DPI and polling rate adjustment

Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) comprises a collection of features that specifically address common challenges gamers encounter when customising their hardware to complement their style of play, as well as monitoring their in-game performance and tweaking such things as targeted/top box thresholds in order to enhance their game play experience.LGS works with most gaming devices that are manufactured and sold by Logitech Corporation, and which are used on both Windows PC and in macOS OSes.

By fiddling with DPI (the sensitivity of your mouse, so as to make the cursor speedy or on-point), polling rate (that is, how quickly the information from your mouse makes its way to the computer), angle snapping distance or lift-off distance settings – it’s all just to help make the mouse, er, mouse easier to use.

Among other functions, it includes macro programming and RGB lighting effects. You can create one-touch macros and assign them to the keyboard and mouse buttons for quickly implementing these actions, as well as trigger RGB lighting effects that you can control in terms of intensity.

Custom macros

Macros are something that can support gamers and make them more comfortable: a long-php sequence becomes a single button press or makes it easier for the gamers to achieve the move – such as in games TEKKEN 7 and Street Fighter V.

Macro keys are built in to Logitech G line of keyboards and mice, with different profiles customised for every game you install; as soon as a new game is installed, you can assign instant customisations to it.

Menu: Click on ‘My Mice’ to display your unnamed mouse, then click directly on your mouse device on the left to bring up its device menu, including the four items: Devices Assignments Downloads Settings Menu: G Hub. To create a custom macro, copy the macro from YouTube (Step 2), click on ‘My Mice’ to display your unnamed mouse, then click directly on your assigned mouse device on the left to call up its device menu including ‘Assignments’ – this is what you have come to see, or the place where you can record custom macros, edit existing assigned macros or download trained macros: Record a Custom Macro. What do you see?I see the choices for three macro types: Sequence – event, event, and so on, repeat.Repeated while holding – event, event, and so on., repeat while holding the button.Toggle – event, event, event, toggle.Then you see that Record Delay is available between events, so you can click it to put a pause, and click clicking Starting Recording.Once you have chosen: sequence, repeated while holding, or toggle, and then chose any delay, now you’re ready to click on Starting Recording after watching the YouTube video to copy the macros. If the recording is correct, you can proceed to Exit Recording if you wish, then Save.

RGB lighting effects

The keycaps of Logitech’s gaming keyboards will flash with an RGB effect that the gamer can directly entrain, customising their own avatar, using Logitech’s own gaming software to increase the avatar’s powers, and assigning new macros – ready-made keystroke sequences that trigger a specific function.
